Hi! We are glad you found your way to ReapMoneyOnline. Please feel free to browse this blog. We try to update twice a week so you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed.
Welcome to our little spot on the web! :D
”If you want to publish on the web you don’t need a print shop, or an editor, or a publisher. You can just slap it up yourself and wait for traffic. “
- David Allen
David Allen is a productivity consultant and his roundabout career path (magician, waiter, karate teacher, landscaper, vitamin distributor, glass-blowing lathe operator, travel agent, gas station manager, U-Haul dealer, moped salesman, restaurant cook, personal growth trainer, and manager) does not make him a expert internet marketer but he does understand the power of search engines in directing traffic or readers to our websites.
According to an article by AccuraCast, internet data miner ComScore’s January 2008 data for the U.S. search engine market share showed 9.7 billion searches for the said month in the 3 major search engines: 6.2 billion for Google, 2.5 billion for Yahoo, and 1 billion for Microsoft. That clearly is a traffic source any online entrepreneur worth his salt can’t ignore. For a personal website, forum, or blog, we might be fine with a comment or 2 every day but if we want to earn real money in the web, we have to find a way to attract some of this traffic.
How? First, we have to learn what keywords or keyphrases are and how they relate to search engines. Click here for our article on the subject. Then we need to optimize our sites for search engines, especially Google. Our articles on SEO’s basic concepts, Off-site SEO and Google Page Rank, and Jill Whalen’s optimization tips might be of assistance.
Our main problem with SEO is the time needed to create content since we need to research keywords, weave our stories around them, and deal with meta tags too. Is the additional effort worth the extra traffic from search engines?

Great blog… it is true that SEO is really important in creating a website/blog and it does take time… but once you have everything set up then it does wonders for traffic!
I think the key phrase you used that was good is “keyphrase.” Long Tail is going to really be the power of search as we go forward for truly generating traffic.
Wow google 6 to 1 of msn! WOW think about that. No wonder they’re trying to force yahoo to sell, that would at LEAST put them at 6 to 3.
Oh boy…do I ever have so much to learn.
Thanks for the info!!
Search engines submissions are very important. I’ve learned that a lot of my traffic comes from search engines. Good article.
And take the time to learn the applications out there that can help you. Google Analytics and their Web Tools can give you great feedback on what searches are bringing people to your site and at what place you show on the search results. Feedburner can give you great feedback on Blogging. etc.
@ mckhoi
Thanks. We’ll have the WP link exchange plugin up soon to make things easier. We’ve also not set-up a blogroll yet. BTW, nice blog too.
@KG
Yep, takes a lot of our time and we’re only getting a trickle for our efforts with RMO at the moment. Can’t blame SEO though, the make money online and web development niche is bloddy competitive.
@ Dave
Neat trick, huh?
Even for that rarely used keyword, there’re still lots of competition.
@ Grandy
Groovy stuff you have in your blog. Basic SEO isn’t difficult to master and they’re already like 75% of the total. We can leave technicalities to the experts.
@ April
Submitting to SEs won’t hurt but the general consensus among experienced webmaster is that the 3 major SEs indexes our sites even if we don’t submit our websites. Fact, they suggest not submitting to SEs and submit to high PR directories instead so our sites get’s indexed faster.
We tested this idea on a newly bought domain and not only was it indexed quickly it was also ranked (PR2) in less than a month. Try ingoogle.net.
@ Steve
Right, it’s amazing many people don’t take advantage of all those free Google webmaster tools, especially analytics. Essential for traffic and keyword analysis.
Thanks for dropping by. :D
Great article! But among every thing else, the last part is the best advice, Content! You can disregard everything else on SEO, but not Content! It can even conquer Ads.
Hello…
That’s what Google says, produce content for people first.
BTW, your comment go caught by Akismet but since someone might stumble here who’s wanting to quit I let it pass.
In case your wondering it didn’t got posted at once. :)
Liked your article and your blog (now on my favorites) I love building website and have been resisting the urge to strike out in the make money niche. So for now I will stick with my automotive niche.
Of course is worth the effort to attract traffic but the job is getting tougher and tougher every day. Especially when optimizing for Google.
Hi!
True, getting found in Google for highly competitive keywords is getting more difficult especially for low PR blogs like ours. Nice toys, especially that castle.
@ Mark
Yep, the make money online niche isn’t exactly a goldmine. RMO is our online notes, flagship, and test site but we’re not expecting to make a lot from it. :D

Hello…
Thanks for dropping by. Your comment got caught by Akismet so it wasn’t posted at once. :)
Yes, its true that the main concern is the content. The keywords that might be used in SEO is related to the content of the article. You can disregard everything else like the design, etc. but not the content itself.
